Training Services

Training is one of the most important aspects of owning a pet. A trained pet makes for a happy environment. We offer a variety of different services from puppy kindergarden (training) to teaching an "old dog new tricks"!

At A Tail and 4 Legs we strive to keep our pets and pet parents satisfied, so you tell us your needs and we will strive to meet them.

Puppy Socialization – Once a week
Mondays $20
Requirements – 10 weeks to 4 months of age
This play date is designed to ensure your puppy grows up with confidence around other dogs. You can stay and watch your pup play or run errands while he meets new friends. Our trainer will be on hand to supervise the pups.


Puppy Education
7 week course for $125
Requirements - 10 weeks to 6 months of age
Get your puppy started off on the right paw! The focus in this class is to establish communication between you and your pup. Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Take it, Leave it, Drop it, and leash walking are a few of the commands we cover in Puppy Education. In addition, we’ll give you the key to great house manners. Everything you need to know about how to prevent mouthing, biting, chewing, nipping, barking, digging, jumping on
people and furniture, proper crate training techniques, and house breaking will be covered.


Basic Education
7 week course for $125
Requirements - 6 months of age and up!
It’s never too late to teach any dog! Here the curriculum is the same as in Puppy Education, with the older dog in mind. Basic Education lays the foundation for a happy life between you and your dog. Emphasis is placed on discouraging bad habits and reinforcing positive behavior.


Intermediate Education
7 week course $110
Requirements – Completion of Puppy or Basic Education or equivalent
We’re almost there! This course is designed to build on the vocabulary established in previous courses by increasing duration, distance, and distractions for your dog. Here we are geared towards teaching that stay means stay and come means come even with people, dogs, cats, squirrels, and toys as distractions.


Advanced Education
6 weeks course $110
includes CGC test
Requirements – Completion of Intermediate or equivalent You can have control of your dog in public! This course is designed to ensure the reliability of the commands your dog knows whether you are at a park, in your local pet store, visiting a hospital, or plan to have company over. Topics covered are directly related to the AKC Canine Good Citizen test which is included in the course.


Private Education
Requirements – 10 weeks of age
Private lessons are available for those who have a hectic schedule or who have specific training needs. Topics covered in private lessons are dependent upon your goals and desires. Our one on one instruction is tailored to your needs, at the pace of your dog’s attention span, and scheduled at your convenience.
Private 4hr - $225
Private 1hr - $60
Private 30 min - $40


Board N Train
Requirements – 10 weeks of age
Board N Train sessions are for our pet parents on the go! Training sessions with your dog will be completed while you are at work, running errands, out of town, or just need extra help! Like Private Education, Board N Train sessions are customized to fit your specific needs.

Education Vacation (2 weeks - $860.00)

Includes: daily customized training session, 2 weeks boarding costs, daily doggy daycare, daily doggy ice cream, daily brushing, and a follow-up consultation.


Refund Policy
Class sizes are limited. If you will not be able to attend the class you signed up for, please let us know in advance so that another applicant may fill your spot. A full transfer credit to a future class or a full refund can be given before the start date of the class. Only one transfer credit is permitted. If you miss a session, you are
eligible for one make-up lesson before your next session (as the schedule allows).
